Guise / Spaulding family papers. 1859-1949.

The business correspondence and teaching certificate of Hannah C. Spaulding, who married James Guise, are also in the papers, as well as correspondence from her parents in Massachusetts. There is also other family correspondence. The scrapbook is a collection of newspaper articles on the history of Boulder and Gold Hill. This collection contains clippings, assay receipts, quit claim deeds, bills of sale, promissory notes, land patents, mortgage bonds, etc., relating to the Gold Hill Mining District, Boulder County, Colorado. Included in the papers are assay receipts and various deeds regarding the mining activities of James A. Guise and his partners in the Gold Hill area, ca. 1898- 1922.
